Terms of Service
Last updated September 12, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RepoContext (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old — or the minimum age required in your country — to create an account.
2. Description of the Service
RepoContext analyses public GitHub repositories and generates AI-readable context files: AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, Cursor Rules and Copilot Instructions. It also exposes a JSON REST API and lets you publish a result as a public share link.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Keep your password confidential and do not share your account with others.
- API keys are displayed once at creation and stored only as a SHA-256 hash. If you lose a key, revoke it and create a new one.
- Never commit an API key to a repository, paste it into a share link, or embed it in client-side code.
- Email [email protected] promptly if you believe your account or a key has been compromised.
4. Free Use and Trials
Visitors who are not signed in receive 5 free analyses per calendar month plus 2 analyses on the premium model. The counters live in a browser cookie, so clearing cookies, switching browsers or using a private window can reset them — please do not use that to work around the quota.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically until you cancel.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
- Payments are processed by Creem. We never see or store your card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time via Dashboard → Quick actions → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops future charges only.
- We may change prices with 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, your account moves to the free tier until the payment method is updated.
6. API Use
Each API key is limited to a number of requests per minute (30 by default). Exceeding the limit returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header.
- Do not bypass rate limits by rotating keys, creating extra accounts, or spreading traffic across IP addresses.
- Do not use the API for load testing or to scan our infrastructure.
- Reselling or white-labelling API access requires our written permission.
- We may throttle or revoke a key that threatens the stability of the Service.
7. Shared Links
Creating a share link publishes a snapshot of your analysis — repository name, quality score and the generated context files — at a public URL. Anyone with the link can open it, and search engines may index it.
Only create a share link for content you are comfortable making public. To have one removed, email [email protected] with the URL.
8. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses large language models. Output can be incomplete, inaccurate or fabricated. Review every generated file against the actual codebase before relying on it, and never deploy generated configuration without reading it first.
The Service is not a substitute for human code review or security review.
9. Your Content and Intellectual Property
You keep all rights to the repositories you analyse and to the output we generate for you. We claim no ownership over either.
We keep ownership of the Service itself — its software, prompts, design and branding.
10. Acceptable Use
Your use of the Service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach it.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard; deletion removes your profile, analysis history and API keys.
We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. Where practical we will give notice first.
12. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RepoContext is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, whether or not we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced on this page and, for signed-in users, by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the changes.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which RepoContext operates, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
