Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated September 12, 2026

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies alongside our Terms of Service. If the two conflict on a topic this AUP covers, this AUP controls for that topic.

2. Prohibited Inputs

You may not submit or analyse content that:

  • Is illegal where you live or where the content is hosted.
  • Infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights — for example code copied from a private repository you have no permission to access.
  • Is malware, ransomware, exploit code, or anything designed to compromise a computer system.
  • Facilitates phishing, social engineering or credential theft.
  • Contains personal data you are not authorised to process under GDPR, CCPA, PIPL or any other applicable privacy law.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use RepoContext to:

  • Reverse-engineer the Service or try to extract the underlying model weights, prompts or source code.
  • Probe, scan or load-test our infrastructure.
  • Bypass rate limits, quotas or payment, including by creating extra accounts, clearing cookies, rotating API keys, or sharing one account between many people.
  • Resell, sublicense or white-label the Service or its output without written permission.
  • Use the output to train, fine-tune or improve a competing AI model or product.
  • Publish an API key anywhere it can be read by others, including committing it to a repository.

4. Prohibited Outputs

You may not:

  • Ship generated AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, Cursor Rules or Copilot instructions as part of a paid product without checking their accuracy and security first.
  • Present generated content as human-authored work in a way that misleads others.
  • Feed generated content into automated systems that make decisions about people — hiring, credit, housing — without human review.

5. API and Share Links

Public share links are readable by anyone who has the URL. Do not publish a share link that exposes credentials, secrets or content you are not licensed to distribute. We may remove any share link that breaches this AUP.

6. Rate Limits and Fair Use

Anonymous visitors get a monthly quota of free analyses and API keys get a per-minute limit. These exist to keep the Service responsive for everyone. We may throttle, suspend or terminate accounts that exceed reasonable use or that we reasonably believe breach this AUP.

7. Reporting Abuse

If content analysed by RepoContext violates this AUP, or another user is abusing the Service, email [email protected] with a link and a short description. We review reports within five business days.

8. Consequences

Depending on severity we may issue a warning, temporarily suspend the account, terminate it without refund, remove a share link, or refer the matter to law enforcement where required.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP. Material changes are announced on this page and by email for signed-in users.
